What Happens Once a Referral is Made?
All boys who attend Notton House School have a Statement of Special Educational Needs.
Once a referral has been made to the school and it has been decided that Notton House School is the most suitable placement, the following process begins:
A date for a parental interview will be set. This will involve parents coming to the school to have an initial visit, having a tour of the facilities and then discussing a range of issues with members of the school management team.
- If a decision is then taken to offer the pupil a place at the school, a letter will be sent to the parents confirming a start date
- The pupil will be provided with a Keyworker who will endeavour to make a home visit before the date of admission
- On the day of admission, the pupil will be collected from home during the afternoon and be brought into school, or parents may wish to bring the pupil to school themselves.
- During the first part of the first evening the pupil’s Keyworker will spend time doing an induction session to explain how the school runs
